Virginia artist, Kwad is dropping Glocks and Butterflies at midnight tonight! I got a sneak preview of the record and was impressed. Here are three reasons why you should listen to it when it drops.
Off the bat, the production is dope. Much of the production is handled by fellow Guild artist ELIJVH and the chemistry between him and Kwad is thick as grizzly bear furs in the Canadian tundra. Just based off their performance together on “Dark Days, Lit Nights” (back when ELIJVH went by the moniker Captain Ki) it’s obvious that they create something special when they link up. In this project, ELIJVH’s darker, trap-inspired beats provide the perfect backdrop to Kwad’s various flows.
Speaking of those flows. Glocks and Butterflies showcases some of Kwad’s best delivery and cadence to date. From his growling delivery on GTA and Mad Max to his sing-songy flow on Save Me and Trust Issues, Kwad is stylin on em, easy. Kwad coalesces his jamaican roots with his Nova accent to seamlessly transition from various tonal deliveries. It makes for an exciting listen.
In His Own Words
“Its a very upbeat project and you should listen because there are a lot of hidden bars. The beats on this joint are off the charts s/o eli. Lastly its that guildshit , get with it or get got “
But don’t take our word for it. Peep the project on his soundcloud at midnight tonight. Merry Christmas!!!!
